ABOUT
The Makers Room is the new home of Adelaide based creative Myf Cadwallader. Creating has always been her drive- making, painting, sculpting with anything she could to keep her hands busy. Myf's formal training began at Adelaide Central School of Art, then Adelaide College for the Arts studying Live Events and Theatre Design. She is skilled and innovative in her creativity and art, and the processes undertaken in creating.

Myf brings her two passions together in The Makers Room; making herself, and guiding children to create for themselves. Working alongside children, Myf's activities allow exploration, innovation, and imagination to drive the creative processes, giving way to new approaches and outcomes. Myf is particularly inspired by the ways in which art can germinate from natural, unconventional and recycled items to yield evocative, intriguing results, and enjoys seeing children learn through experience, exploring different processes and mediums.

With a background in Theatre design, Myf has actively pursued creation in many diverse forms, be it dance, street performance, movement and puppetry. Her role within the arts covers breadth and diversity, ranging from production design, scenic painting, construction, prop and costume making. This history provides a key role to the installations and activities for children, providing scope for the ways in which art and making can lead to large scale experiences.
